Water deficit is one of the major challenges confronting rural communities in Nigeria. According to Federal Ministry of Water, Nigerians had better access to potable water in 1990 than in 2017. This implies a growing dilapidation and shortfall in water supply. Mournfully, clean water has become a form of luxury among Nigerians especially the semi-urban and rural dwellers. Out of the marginalized populations, women and children have been identified as the most deprived and affected.

Against this backdrop, our lead investigators have uncovered and initiated #WaterBukarti to track Water Borehole Installation at Bukarti, in Yunusari LGA of Yobe State to be implemented by the African Development Bank.

We invite the general public to get involved in the campaign today and help us in this campaign so that Bukarti community will have access to clean water by joining us on www.ifollowthemoney.org
